hmmm i actually haven't touched this blog in the last couple of weeks. school is weighing heavily on my shoulders this sem, especially fyp and fin2004 coz that one has tutorials which are turning out to be not as easy as any other biz mod ive taken before. sigh. perhaps im just not so good with counting money.
anyway, with graduation round a corner, yes almost half the sem is over already. career fairs and talks have urged me to start looking at job applications and sending my resumes here there everywhere. i see how some of my frens like more technical work which relate closer to mechanical engineering and me, not really minding technical work, but rather spend less time crunching numbers and such. it opens up a couple more choices for me, but i also find that i may not be suitable or have the nessecary qualifications that would get me close to an interview room. that includes my cap, which is sadly staying indefinetly in the 2nd lower zone. meaning hundreds of first and 2nd upper students have an edge over me. some places tend not even to look at anything below 2nd upper which is kinda sad, like when an A*star fren said to me, apply to A*star lar! and i hafta shake my head, doubt they'll even look at me. depressing, what with the current job market. guess i'll just march on through and hope somebody wants me. hahaha. and i need to actually send people resumes and not just keep considering. today is the 14th of febuary, target is 10 resumes by the end of the month. which should be about 5 a week, 1 a week day. haha okay a bit tough but shall try. currently looking at A*star, CAAS. dsta, smrt, emerson, kbr, st engineering. hmm thats only 7. any more suggestions?
highlights of the week would be Qh's opera. yes opera. something which most pple would know to be long boring affairs, this one was short and entertaining. ok abit miffed about the short part cause u pay 20bucks for like an hr of performace, with a 15min interval. its mainly 2 short operas, The Schoolmaster (in german), and The Wandering Scholar. they were all quite funny.
somehow ended up hanging out with some of the Rwinds + 1 non Rwinds pple over coffee. Its been a long time i've sat down and talked cock over coffee with a bunch of pple i've not known for the last 5 yrs or so. never really got such a chance before during Rwinds prac i guess, since we're just sitting around playing music and then go back. haha. well interesting. heard some interesting stories. lol. their meeting up again next fri. shopping? that would be awkward.
