why pepper/salt dispensers look like eggs not fish in Manhattan Fish

Me : "Becoz then it'll be like flat like fish. then it would hafta come out on the side, like from its mouth. Or you could still put it on top, but then it'll be like {action: holding a thin book(fish)-like object, flipping it n attempting to shake from an inderminate hole}"

P.S I know its not really funny, but its such total crap I can't help myself....
